The Majestic Alps

Switzerland's breathtaking Alpine landscapes are a hiker's paradise, and Verbier stands out as a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Nestled in the heart of the Valais canton, Verbier offers an abundance of scenic trails and awe-inspiring vistas, making it an ideal location for moderate-level hiking adventures. In this blog post, we will guide you through the process of accessing the trails via gondola and chair lifts, as well as provide recommendations for essential gear and a packing list.

Accessing the Trails: Verbier's efficient cable car system serves as an excellent means to access the region's hiking trails. If you are on your own begin your alpine adventure, head to the Médran gondola station in the center of Verbier village. From here, you can ascend to the Les Ruinettes mid-station, where the journey to the mountain peaks begins. The chairlifts at Les Ruinettes will transport you to various starting points, allowing you to tailor your hike to your desired difficulty level and preferences. For moderate-level hikes, we recommend taking the La Chaux Express chairlift to the Col des Gentianes, which sits at an elevation of 2,950 meters (9,678 feet). From there, you can choose from a range of picturesque trails that offer panoramic views of the surrounding alpine beauty.

If you are with our Euphoria Retreats guide they will take you on several of these majestic trails, exploring a different one daily.
