GREECE YOGA RETREAT
June 15—24, 2018
Soak up the sun and bask in the Aegean on this island-hopping adventure through the Greek Cyclades! Our Greece Yoga Retreat begins in Athens and ends on the island of Milos. Traveling light, with one carry-on suitcase and a traditional Greek string backpack, we island-hop by ferry to dive into the unique beauty and culture of three less-touristed Cyclades islands: Sifnos, Serifos and Milos. Sunbathe on exotic beaches, hike alongside goats on ancient stone pathways lined by olive trees, jump off seaside cliffs into turquoise waters and swim in the warm and luscious Aegean sea. Eat at local family beach tavernas and dine at new gourmet hotspots in hilltop choras. We welcome four lucky duos / couples on this intimate, one-of-a-kind boutique experience! Only two rooms left!
Dive into Mediterranean culture.
Island hop the Cyclades
Each island is a gem in the blue silk of the Aegean, chosen for its unique land and character. Sifnos is greatly appreciated for hiking, authentic culture and gastronomy (one option: a Greek cooking class on an organic farm). Serifos is rural and mountainous, with great beaches and a stunning hilltop medieval town. Milos claims the best beaches in Greece (70 of them!), with the famous white Lefkada caves nearby, accessible only by boat. Each day we have a fun-filled itinerary for the group—but if a motorcycle ride around the island or a daylong bike outing draws you into your own adventure, we will share stories over our next meal!
BOUTIQUE ISLAND HOTELS
Sleep in pure luxury—each room with a view to the sea! A whitewashed mansion with crystal-clear water just steps away. An old mining village turned eco-residence, with sumptuous Coco-Mat beds. An intimate hotel where the pool merges with the sea view and the starry night presses close. All rooms on our Greece Yoga Retreat are en-suite with full amenities and a king-size bed.
TAVERNAS & BEACHSIDE RESTAURANTS
Treat yourself to an effortless Mediterranean diet. Greeks are masters of the almost-vegetarian kitchen, with fresh-caught fish, delightful salads, tiny-batch olive oil—even homemade wine straight from the barrel. Sifnos in particular is known for its excellent and authentic cuisine, and everywhere we eat at both small family-run places and gourmet destinations. We enjoy two meals daily as a group, with several evenings free for you to explore local restaurants and dine intimately with your beloved.
YOGA IN NATURE
Our yoga studio is nature; our props are the sights, sounds and sensations of the sea. On this Greece yoga retreat we have one tailored class each day, on a beach, hotel terrace or spectacular cliff overlooking the sea.
DAY 1 • FERRY FROM ATHENS TO SIFNOS
Our group meets in Athens in the early afternoon and proceeds to Piraeus for the ferry to Sifnos, a 2.5-hour trip, and transfer to the far side of the island. Arrive at the lovely Verina Astra, where the soothing natural stone and view down the hillside will set the tone for our beautiful journey.
DAYS 2 & 3 • SIFNOS Authentic culture, beautiful hikes & best food in Greece!
Our morning routine every day of the trip: yoga with a view of the clear blue Aegean, followed by sumptuous breakfast with housemade preserves, fresh yogurt and other local produce. Walk up to the nearby village of Artemonas, a flawlessly whitewashed example of Cycladic architecture. Hop on a paddleboard or bike from the hotel. Or relax by the pool and watch the colors change on the Aegean. Sample local cuisine, such as saffron-scented fish soup, for which Sifnos is famed. Today and every day, you have lunch free to explore on your own and spend time with your travel companion.
DAY 4 • FERRY TO SERIFOS
After breakfast, transfer back to the ferry port and make the short hop—just 20 minutes—across the water to neighboring Serifos.• Settle in at Coco-Mat Serifos, a beautiful and ecologically sensitive adaptation of century-old miners’ cabins. Sleep well, thanks to gentle sea breezes and beds by Coco-Mat, Greece’s all-natural, handmade mattress company.
DAYS 5 & 6 • SERIFOS Rural, rugged and mountainous with fabulous beaches!
Both wild and stylish!• Live in simplicity and calm. The appeal of Serifos—population less than 1,500—is its wild landscape dotted with just a few dreamy whitewashed villages. Strike out into nature, whether by sea-kayak from the hotel or on hiking trails along water’s edge or in the interior. Dine in the mountaintop village of Chora, where chic Athenians retreat for weekends.
DAY 7 • FERRY TO MILOS
This morning, we hop the ferry to Milos, a 1.5-hour journey. Our hotel: the Melian, where the sunset view across the sea and other rugged islands is one of the highlights in an already scenic region.
DAYS 8 & 9 • MILOS Known for (70) best beaches & the Lefkada pirate caves!
Live your best beach• Beach-hop around the island’s dozens of scenic coves, or explore from the hotel, biking, hiking, kayaking or snorkeling. Or simply relax—there’s a full-service spa, and plenty of time to enjoy it. Join us on a boat excursion to sea caves on nearby Lefkada, a beautiful photo opportunity and chance to enjoy the fresh sea air!
DAY 10 • FERRY TO ATHENS
We return to Athens by ferry, a trip of four hours: time to sort through your 1,001 photos of the beauty of the Aegean and the warmth of Greece.
Two rooms left!
An intimate retreat for 8 guests – four couples or duos, each in a lovely en-suite king room with views to the sea.

An experience I will never forget! Perfection—the best hotel and hospitality I’ve ever received anywhere in the world. I would recommend an Exotic Yoga Retreat to anyone who asks! My heart is overflowing as a result of the warmth, connection and spirit of all the wonderful people involved!

Hands down, the best retreat I’ve ever been to, and I have been to many! Perfect combination of leisure, relaxation, cultural immersion, and exceptional food! Gayle’s yoga has an incredible depth of knowledge, from her anatomical references, to her deep teachings of asana and pranayama. The best is her acceptance of all levels of practice, respecting each individual’s body and level of practice. Can’t wait to join another Exotic Yoga Retreat!
