Ireland Yoga Retreat – 3 Things To Know Before You Go
Our luxury Ireland yoga retreat begins in just a few weeks and we are so excited to explore the lush countryside of this quaint European island.
Since Irish culture has been exported to many countries around the world, most of us are familiar with at least a few aspects of life in Ireland. You will find an Irish pub in almost every major city worldwide!
Many Irish pubs are also well-known for ‘quiz nights’ – sometimes rowdy social events in which individuals or teams compete to see who knows more random tidbits of information.
In honor of our upcoming Ireland yoga retreat – and in the spirit of the Irish pub quiz night – here are some fun and interesting facts to know and share!
Ireland is a snake-free island.
So, if you are ophidiophobic, have no fear! Because of its geographic isolation from the European mainland, snakes have never inhabited Ireland (other than a few that are in zoos or captivity).
It might be possible, however, to awaken your kundalini while on our Ireland yoga retreat…let that coiled serpent of energy move up your spine, connect with the innate intelligence of your soul and raise your energetic vibration!
Guinness is good for you.
Guinness stout is one of the most recognized things in all of Irish culture. You may have seen the vintage advertisements that make this claim – and to be fair, it is at least partially true!
According to studies, antioxidant compounds found in Guinness can slow down the accumulation of cholesterol in the human body and reduce the chance of heart attack. There are also only 198 calories in a pint of Guinness – fewer than most light beers! So, you can feel good about mindfully enjoying a pint while you are on our Ireland yoga retreat. Sláinte!
Ireland is home to the ‘Cliffs of Insanity’ from the film, The Princess Bride. (…as…you…wish…!!)
In real life, they are known as the Cliffs of Moher and are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ireland – receiving over 1 million visitors a year. On our Ireland yoga retreat, you will visit the Cliffs of Moher and enjoy basking in the majesty of this ancient geologic phenomenon, bearing witness to around 300 million years of formation.
We hope these fun facts have inspired you to visit the Emerald Isle, and maybe join us for a bit of luxury and adventure on our Ireland yoga retreat. We can not wait to explore with you and see the world differently!
