Seeing the world differently is about seeing the world—and oneself—with eyes of wonder. My intention for founding Exotic Yoga Retreats is to inspire people through yoga and travel to truly see the world and themselves differently. I believe that by stepping into the unknown, we step into new territory within ourselves. When we travel to an inspiring place, mingle with new friends, immerse ourselves in a new culture, and focus more deeply in our yoga practice, we discover inner strengths and potentials we didn’t even know existed! It’s this magic of the potential to see the world differently that fuels my retreats!

Starting Exotic Yoga Retreats has been the beginning of a new journey for me, and it’s one I look forward to sharing with all of you.

Bhutan, A Truly Exotic Yoga Retreat

Bhutan, A Truly Exotic Yoga Retreat by Lisa Holz | Jul 27, 2016 The small, isolated nation of Bhutan was closed to tourism until 1974. Considered by some to be the world’s last Shangri-La, this Himalayan kingdom has intrigued and charmed its visitors for over 40 years now. Our Bhutan yoga retreat is truly exotic, taking place in a natural wonderland that few people will ever visit. In...

The Yoga Journey, A Journey Home

The Yoga Journey, A Journey Home by Lisa Holz | Jul 24, 2016 Home is where the heart is. Yoga is a journey. Each individual practice brings you from one state to another in your body, mind and heart. In such a lovely way, the evolution of your practice over time will continue as long as you continue to show up on your mat. The beauty of yoga is that – with all of its eight limbs and the myriad...

Yoga and Wine – They Go Together!

Yoga and Wine – They Go Together! by Lisa Holz | Jun 21, 2016 The first ever Exotic Yoga Retreat was a yoga and wine holiday in Puglia. “Yoga and, uh, wine?” When Exotic Yoga Retreats was launched over four years ago, it seemed that everyone I told about it responded with this question — as if yoga and wine did not belong in the same sentence. I expected a ‘Wow!’ or...
