Our Tuscany Yoga Retreat blends good health with good living – another way to say La Bella Vita! Stay in this historic and stunning 800-year old farmhouse turned luxury boutique villa set in the Italian countryside between Florence and Siena. Days are rich in yoga and sunshine, walking, swimming, lounging by the pool, sharing food and wine under the stars and basking in the simple life of Tuscany.
FLOW OF A MEDITERRANEAN DAY
MORNINGS begin leisurely with an Italian cappuccino in the quietude of the Tuscan countryside. Take a morning stroll through the fields and forest enjoying the luxury of pure peace and breath-taking beauty. Late morning we meet in the yoga studio to meditate and practice yoga with an exceptional teacher, Josie Sykes — her spirited yoga classes artfully weaving breath, asana and body awareness into intelligent sequences to open your heart, body and mind!.
AFTERNOONS begin with mouth-watering salads, soups and healthy Tuscan delights! After lunch the afternoon is free to siesta, swim, enjoy a book by the pool or perhaps try your hand at a Mediterranean cooking class with villa chef, Marion Riedmiller. If you wish to venture into the countryside to explore a famous medieval town (Siena, Volterra or San Gimignano), you can either rent a car or hire a private driver. For the more physically adventurous, you can trek in the forests, hike or horseback-ride in the neighborhood. At sunset each day we re-convene for a rejuvenating and informative yoga workshop and pranayama session.
EVENINGS in Tuscany are pure magic as we enjoy our meal, family-style under the stars, appreciating la bella vita!

On our mediterranean-style retreats we try for a good balance of retreat time, down-time and a taste of local cultural. Our experience on this retreat is that most people are perfectly delighted to stay at the villa to enjoy the peace and luxury of the countryside, pool, exquisite food and wine. Others who may have traveled a great distance or are experiencing Italy for the first time, may want to see an ancient medieval town or taste wine on a family vineyard. To give you full freedom to find just the right balance for you, we treat you to a few in-villa experiences—a cooking class at the villa and a wine tasting experience in the villa’s wine cellar with a very charming Italian wine man! For those who would like to explore the region we suggest either renting a car or signing up for a group transport to visit the famous medieval city of Siena (sign up on web site for $75).
YOUR EXOTIC YOGA RETREAT TEACHER
Our Exotic Yoga Retreat program is designed for mixed levels, offering modifications for beginners and greater levels of challenge for advanced students. Your teacher on this retreat is Josie Sykes, beloved for her depth of knowledge in yoga, her strong leadership skills and her wise and sweet spirit! Josie leads Vinyasa and Hatha classes with a superb understanding of healthy postural alignment from her extensive background in both yoga and the Feldenkrais postural method. All our Exotic Yoga programs emphasize safety, awareness, intelligence—and the joie di vivre of yoga!
